Shiny Shiny is a brand, brand new all girl three piece electroflash ensemble that has been created to be visually exciting and musically brilliant. It’s performance art meets live electro in this animated electrocosm.
Taking influences from early 80′s new wave synth based music, Shiny Shiny is developing its own lo-fi performance based genre, electroflash. With easily digestible pop melodies and Blondie style rapping, the girls have been described as a “pre-pubescent Peaches”. Shiny Shiny seduces audiences into a night full of fun, dancing and non-stop surprises, including synchronized dance moves and ever dazzling changing costumes.
Although the trio are barely nine months old, the following they have created is already massive. Shiny Shiny have just launched the theme song and film clip, “Talk Derby to Me,” for the Northern Rivers Roller Derby girls. Also recently the girls completed their “Flannies are Forever” tour, developed in collaboration with Brisbane’s Polytoxic/Briefs boys. They have shared the stage with The Blush Foundation, The Barons of Tang, Jimmy Willing and the Real Gone Hickups and their in house tape jockeys Space Tapes and Analogalicious. In the recent months Shiny Shiny have been said by audiences from Nimbin to Melbourne to be “awesmazing”, “totally shiny shiny”, and Jon Bon Jovi got nothin’ on the shiny’s.
All members of shiny have an extensive and sometimes famous performance history, and two of the members have recently returned from performing at festivals and venue’s in the UK this last summer, including Soho’s Book Club Boutique.
