OVER-REACTOR

Announce “MOUTH OF THE GHETTO” Tour

“A crushing and polarising set from one of the most interesting and forward thinking heavy bands in Melbourne.” Billy Geary, Life Music Media

Melbourne’s death-hop masters, Over-Reactor are hitting the road to celebrate the release of their latest single Mouth Of The Ghetto. Mouth Of The Ghetto is also the title of their forthcoming album, due in the second half of 2012. Since recently releasing their first single and video, the band have received over 4000 views on Youtube and had three songs in the top ten on the Triple J Unearthed  metal charts.

Its two members, Ezekiel Ox (ex Mammal, Full Scale) and Cory Blight (ex Dukes Of Windsor), launched Over-Reactor eighteen months ago, and have already toured nationally with Karnivool, Front End Loader, Floating Me, and COG.

OVER-REACTOR – LOSE YOUR DELUSION ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR

13 Mar

Melbourne Death-Hop pioneers, OVER-REACTOR (Ezekiel Ox – Mammal, Cory Blight – Dukes of Windsor), are celebrating the release of their brand new album ‘Lose Your Delusion’ with a string of shows along the East Coast of Australia throughout April and May.

The album is a culmination of the best tracks from their debut releases, ‘Lose Your Delusion I’ and ‘Lose Your Delusion Too’, as chosen by their fans through an online Poll that was posted on the band’s Facebook page. The previous two limited-edition, hand-folded covered albums, will no longer be available for sale on the band’s store from the 6th of March, making them collectors items with only 200 copies of each having been pressed.

Since forming in January 2010, OVER-REACTOR have written, recorded, mixed and mastered two full albums, had Chris Cheney pop into the studio to lay down guitar on the track ‘Something More’, and have supported COG in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The band have amazingly achieved all of this on a DIY ethos, self managed, on virtually no budget with while also maintaining their belief that all their music should be available to their fans for FREE.

The Lose Your Delusion Tour will see the band performing in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland. Stay tuned as there are more dates still to be announced.

Visit the website www.over-reactor.com for tour dates, to buy tickets, book them to play your house party, and for free music downloads.

VENUE CHANGE – Over-reactor to play Caloundra instead of Maroochydore Thurs 17 Feb!

11 Feb

Just an update to let you all know that Over-reactor’s gig at Club Envy in Maroochydore will now take place at Kings Beach Tavern in Caloundra.

The band are terribly sorry for all of those located in Maroochydore who were planning on coming along, but it was the venue who cancelled giving the guys only one week’s notice (after they had spent $ on advertising and posters!!!). We at GVP are Not Happy Jan!

Anyway…. those of you up the Sunshine Coast way can catch death-hop duo Over-reactor on Thursday 17th February at Kings Beach Tavern in Caloundra.

Peace!

MELBOURNE DEATH-HOP DUO OVER-REACTOR RETURN TO QUEENSLAND

2 Feb

Melbourne ‘death-hop’ duo – OVER-REACTOR – are gearing up to take their metal-to-the-floor live show up to south-eastern Queensland mid February supported by local bands PERSPEKTIV and GALAXY.

The tour comes on the heels of their follow up album release, ‘Lose Your Delusion Too’, which is the second album from the band, having only formed in January 2010.

Spawned from Mammal and Dukes of Windsor, Over-reactor quickly established themselves as a powerful force to be reckoned with. From the screams and croons from awesome front man Ezekiel Ox, bone-crunching percussion sounds of Cory Blight, and distinctive visual stage layout of “Kev TV”, you can be guaranteed that no other show will have your full attention than that of an Over-reactor gig.

This mini tour will be the band’s first time back in Queensland since supporting COG at The Tivoli in June 2010.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to see OVER-REACTOR, then you may have heard it already on the grapevine… it is definitely a live show that has to be seen to be believed!

Wednesday, 16 February

Fitzy’s Loganholme – Loganholme

Thursday, 17 February

Club Envy – Maroochydore

Friday, 18 February

Step Inn – Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

Saturday, 19 February

AMIN airline baggage survey for touring artists

22 Jan

Few issues continue to dog artists more than trying to deal with excess baggage fees and limitations when touring with musical equipment.

And now, AMIN is taking a lead in efforts to deal with this ongoing problem that, in some cases, is having a serious impact on artists’ ability to tour effectively.

In late January, AMIN will be meeting as part of a taskforce initiated by airline V Australia to develop some strategies to address the problem. And in order to guide those discussions, AMIN is compiling a snapshot of how artists use airlines to tour – both domestically and internationally – and the issues faced when touring with instruments and other gear.

AMIN has now launched the first ever major online survey for artists looking at this issue. Responses to the brief survey will play a major role in finding a solution to this ongoing problem.

Have your say and take the survey by clicking HERE.

Keep your eye on www.amin.org.au for more updates soon.
